FIS Licence Price Increase from 1st August 2011
From Monday 1st August 2011 any athletes who apply for an 2011/2012 FIS Licence will be charged full price. Early bird offers which are currently available will end at midnight on 31st July 2011.

Macfarlanes Partner with British Ski and Snowboard
British Ski and Snowboard (BSS) is delighted to announce that it is entering in to a partnership agreement with Macfarlanes, the City law firm, which will provide financial support and legal services to Britain's elite Snowsport athletes during the next year. In return Macfarlanes will gain access to some of the world's top snowsports events in addition to developing a relationship with some of Britain's leading athletes.

Slopestyle Succeeds in Making the Programme for Sochi 2014
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced today that Slopestyle will feature on the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard event programmes for the 2014 Winter Olympics which will be held in Sochi, Russia.

FIS Calendar Conference, Portoroz, 2011
At the beginning of June, nine representatives from GBR attended the annual FIS Calendar Conference, which this year took place in Portoroz, Slovenia, between 1st -4th June.

2011/2012 British Alpine Team Athlete Training Now Well Underway
The British EC team are currently training at the Scottish institute of sport in Stirling, working on their fitness and conditioning before they get back out on the snow.

Benja Hedley Speeds to 9th Place in Salla
Due to commitments elsewhere, only Benja Hedley made the World Cup double-header in Salla, Finland last week. Located far north in the Arctic tundra of Lapland, just 5km from the border with Russia, Salla is one of the most remote ski resorts in Europe. With temperatures of -25 during the day, it's easy to feel a little exposed in just 5mm of lycra catsuit.

The eighth Ski Cross World Cup race of a gruelling season took place today in Grindelwald Switzerland, where British Ski Cross Team member Emily Sarsfield, 27, beat world cup ranked number 7, Katrin Mueller and world cup ranked number eight, Jenny Owens, to place 14th, Sarsfield's best result World Cup result of the season and her best result since seriously injuring her knee in 2009.

British Speed Skier Benja Hedley reveals his unorthodox introduction to the sport
Benja Hedley only started speed skiing last year but is already ranked in the top 10 in the world. In an interview for Metro newspaper Ben revealed that he had bought a pair of skis and a second hand catsuit from Ebay to try his hand at speed skiing last April.

BSS Bursaries Scheme launched
British Ski and Snowboard has launched an exciting new Bursary Scheme which will directly benefit British Junior Alpine Team athletes. British Olympic Association Ball
Over 60 British Olympic medallists attended the British Olympic Association Ball on Friday 24th September 2010. The evening was a great success, with celebrity stars from the worlds of entertainment, music and business, as well as HRH Prince Harry, enjoying this crucial fundraiser for TeamGB.
