British Speed Skier Benja Hedley reveals his unorthodox introduction to the sport

Benja Hedley had only skied once before trying Speed Skiing last April. With a second hand pair of skis from Ebay he started training, and competed in his first competitive race at the beginning of this year. He is now ranked 8th in the world and is challenging those at the top of the sport.

When BSS asked him why he particularly enjoys Speed Skiing, Benja said 'Skiing at over 100mph is double the speed the equipment was designed for, so the skis can feel a little "twitchy". I've skydived, bobsleighed and loads of other sports, but Speed Skiing really is the biggest rush you can get with your clothes on.'
