A team of three Alpine Junior athletes has been announced to represent Great Britain at the FIS World Alpine Junior Championships in Crans Montana between 30th January 2011 and the 5th February 2011.

The three athletes selected by British Ski and Snowboard are Harriet Steggles (19) from England, Alex Tilley (17) from Scotland and Jack Gower (16) also from England.  The British Alpine team have been supported all season by British Land and Colmar.

Crans Montana provides a fitting historical back drop for these Championships  In January 1911, exactly one hundred years ago, the 1st downhill ski race in winter sport history took place on the Haut-Plateau, starting on the Plaine Morte Glacier and finishing in Montana.  The team announced today will ski on parts of the same course that hosted that first race.

More than 250 of the best Junior Alpine athletes in the world representing 52 nations will attend the Championships. Crans-Montana will be adding a new outstanding event to its long and rich history in the white circus!
