British Ski and Snowboard is implementing long-term performance pathways and is tasked with the development of elite athletes and the delivery of programmes which will lead to World Class Performances. Michael Pilarski has been appointed to the position of Head of Programmes and will be working closely with all the athletes to create individual plans and goals for the 2011/2012 season.

Commenting on the Selection, Dave Edwards, Chief Executive of BSS said "much time effort and energy has been expended in the last twelve months fighting to create an organisational platform that can support our top athletes. The job is part complete but at least, thanks to the support of British Land, Colmar and others, we can now announce development programmes and a team who can strive for success on a world stage. The group of athletes that we have announced today are considered to be the best British prospects for Alpine success for the next generation. They owe it to those that support them and those not selected to constantly strive for better results. We look forward to seeing the improvements in the coming years."

A further five athletes have also been selected from the Group that could represent Great Britain at the Youth Olympic Winter Games in 2012. Whilst these five may get the opportunity of taking part in a BOA preparation programme there will be a further selection process to determine who the best British representatives will be. That process will be announced shortly.
