Mixed Fortunes in Crans Montana

WJC CM

As the Alpine World Junior Championships draw to a close in Crans Montana, there have been mixed fortunes for the trio of British athletes.

Harriet Steggles and Alexandra Tilley had a disappointing competition, both failing to complete their first run in the Slalom and Giant Slalom events.  However GBR's only male representative had much more successful championships.

16 year old Jack Gower finished 50th in the Giant Slalom event with a total time of 2mins 33secs, the highest ranking for his age group.  Further success followed in the Slalom where he came 54th only 6 seconds behind Liechtenstein's Marco Pfiffner, the highest ranking athlete in Jack's age group.

Well done to all the athletes for their hard work and a special congratulations to Jack for his fantastic performance.
