Profile - Andrew Young

Andrew began skiing at the age of two and competed abroad for the first time at the age of ten, in Canada. By the time Andrew was twelve he was a member of the British Nordic Development Squad and started training properly for cross country skiing a year later.

In Andrew's first FIS race he qualified for the World Cup, and as a result he became the youngest male cross country skier to start a World Cup.

The 2009/2010 season was another very successful one for Andrew, as he qualified for the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, in which he finished a commendable 64^th place. Arguably Andrew's best performance of the season was at the first ever Tour de Barents, where he finished ahead of some of the best Scandinavian juniors and was competitive in the senior class.

For the 2010/2011 season Andrew will be living in Norway, where he will train with a new coach as part of a new system at NTG Geilo. He hopes to race in the domestic Norges Cup and in a few international events, such as the World Juniors and World Championships.
