Alex began skiing at the age of ten when he went to his local ski centre in Huntly. Most of Alex's early development was down to the fact that he was part of the Huntly ski club and Huntly development squad. When he was 12 years old he joined the British development squad.
In 2007 he attended the European Youth Olympics and had the great honour of being the British flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
He has been to three world junior championships and the world championship in 2009. In 2009 he qualified for the World Cup circuit but has not yet competed in a World Cup race.
For the 2010 season Alex will be based in Lillehammer and hopes to qualify for the World U23's Championship as well as the World Championships which will be held at the historic Holmenkollen.
