Profile - Noel Baxter

Noel grew up skiing in Aviemore in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.  Encouraged by both the tradition of elite sportsmen emerging from the Spey Valley and belonging to an exceptional skiing family (with two brothers in the British team), Noel was soon making his own mark on the British Junior ski racing circuit.

He soon became a full time member of the British Ski Team, working up from the Children's Team through to his current spot on the British Senior Alpine Ski Team.  Noel has competed in two Winter Olympic Games - in Salt Lake City (2002), where he finished in 20^th place in the Slalom and Turin (2006), where he finished 14^th in the Combined event. 

Noel has also competed at the last five World Ski Championships, and frequently races on the World Cup ski racing circuit. Noel has won over ten British titles and is a well known face in the circle of UK elite sport. He has been working hard to recover from reconstructive surgery on his left knee in the summer of 2011, in order to race again in the 2012 winter season.
