Profile - Natalie Beattie

Originally from Arbroath, Scotland, Natalie spent every winter as a child in France, where her parents run a chalet company. Since the age of 10 Natalie has lived permanently in France.

Both Natalie's parents are skiing instructors so the opportunity arose for her to ski from an early age. With so many chances to ski, Natalie progressed very quickly, and was selected for her local ski club at the age of 6. With the club Natalie trained in cross country skiing, ski jumping and alpine skiing, before deciding to choose Alpine skiing as her specialist discipline ( slalom and giant slalom) at the age of 9.

Natalie was selected for the International Jugend Cup for 5 consecutive years, where she represented her local town in France. This is a great event between teams and she skied in Obersdorf (Germany), Schruns (Austria), Madessimo (Italy), Saas-Fee (Switzerland) and Courchevel (France). The best result that Natalie achieved from these races was 2^nd place in Gs and 3^rd in Slalom. During the 2008-2009 winter season,  she was ranked 8^th best skier in France.

Natalie's first FIS race was in Val Thorens in November 2009. In slalom she gained 52 points and in GS 79 points. She is now preparing for a full winter season of racing and hopes that the knee injury she received last December does not hinder her performance.
