Max started his skiing career by competing in dry ski slope races at his local artificial slope. His training there, in addition to family holidays in La Plagne, France, led to him joining The Snow Club, before being selected to join the British Children's Ski Team.
From 2005 to 2010, Max represented Great Britain in major Children's competitions and has continued to rise through the ranks. In 2009 Max trained and competed in South America and throughout Europe, and ended the 2010 season as the No 1 ranked British child, having one a number of National titles, including the English Alpine Championships (Giant Slalom), Scottish Championships (Slalom) and the British Championships (Dual Slalom).
Max was then selected to be part of the British Junior Alpine Ski Team, an incredible achievement for an athlete aged just 14 years old.
