Profile - Andrew Musgrave

| Name | Andrew Musgrave |
| D.O.B: | 06/03/1990 |
| Team(s): | British Cross Country Ski Team/Team LeasePlan Go |
| Club: | Huntly Nordic Ski Club |
Andrew is currently the only UK athlete ever to win at the Norwegian championships, taking the top spot in the team-sprint in 2013. He was also a member of the first GB Cross Country Ski team to compete at the Olympics since 1994 at the 2010 Vancouver games.
Aiming to achieve a significant result at Sochi in 2014, Andrew’s world-cup performances have improved dramatically every season since Vancouver and he is regularly scoring world cup points.
Greatest sporting achievement to date
Winning the 2013 Norwegian Championship
Sporting hero
I don’t really have a hero but aim to hopefully become one myself one day
Most important support person
I’ve had a lot of support, all of which has been vital to get me to where I am today. Friends, family and coaches especially.
Training Regime
A minimum of 20-30 hours per week over generally 2 sessions a day. Training consists of a mixture of running, skiing, roller-skiing, biking and strength sessions.
Worst injury
A broken arm - I broke my arm trying to do a 360 over a picnic table once. Unfortunately I didn’t realise it was broken until over a week later and that was only after completing a world cup 50km race.
Favourite discipline
My favourite discipline is skate skiing. It’s faster, more powerful and generally just better than classic skiing.
What would I do if not an athlete?
If I wasn’t an athlete I would probably be a full-time student right now, making the most of student life. Probably doing the normal student activities that I seem to miss out on currently with all my training and competitions.
