Originally from Arbroath, Scotland, Natalie spent every winter as a child in France, where her parents run a chalet company. Since the age of 10 Natalie has lived permanently in France.
Both Natalie's parents are skiing instructors so the opportunity arose for her to ski from an early age. With so many opportunities to ski, Natalie progressed very quickly, and was selected for her local ski club at the age of 6. With the ski club Natalie trained in cross country skiing, ski jumping and alpine skiing, before deciding to choose Alpine skiing as her specialist discipline (slalom and giant slalom) at the age of 9.
During her 2010/2011 season, Natalie was chosen to compete in the European Youth Olympics in Czech Republic where she was 23rd in the GS. It was a great experience and she was delighted to have been chosen to take part in such a prestigious event.
She was also very pleased with her performance in the British National Junior Championship GS where she was crowned British Junior GS Champion 2011.
She is now training with a private ski group based in Meribel called Orsatus. Now training with Orsatus, she was pleased with the progress she made last season as she got both her Slalom an GS points down. She now skis to 31 points in Slalom and 43 in GS.
At the 2013 British Championships she won the Slalom and 2nd in the GS.
She has just passed her French Economics and Sociology Baccalaureate, where she got a “mention bien” (overall average of 14). As she was in a sports class she had a lot of time off to train, both skiing and sport preparation. To allow this she is allowed an extra year to sit her exams.
This upcoming season will be even easier for her, as she will not need to think about school at all. She starts University in April after the winter season. She will again attend a special University specifically designed for athletes.
She hopes to get her FIS points to sub 30 in both technical disciplines by the middle of the season and to around the 20 level in SL by the end of the season.
