Top start to the season for Gower

It has been a great start to the 2014 season for BSS FIS-EC Alpine racer Jack Gower with some significant results from North America. 19-year old Jack, from West Sussex, has started off his winter season racing in the States and in his first race achieved a top 30 finishing spot in the FIS Super G at Copper Mountain on the 10th November. Jack then went on to gain a top ten and a podium spot in the National Junior races held there a week later, in Slalom and GS respectively.
At the end of November, Jack raced in the North American Continental Cup GS races at Loveland Ski Area in Colorado. From a stacked field including athletes from the World Cup circuit, Jack achieved great results. On the first day of the Giant Slalom he finished in 24th place, and on the second day of racing he finished 23rd, starting from bib number 46; he was 2.3 seconds out, and made a fantastic sub-20 point result.
Jack said of his successful start: "It was good to start the season with some decent results which have helped build my confidence. I'm now looking forward to the next series of races."
