Sochi stars back in action and World Junior Alpine Championships starts

After the excitement of Sochi 2014, British Ski and Snowboard athletes are back in action already.
Chemmy Alcott is back racing at the World Cup taking place in Crans Montana this weekend. Downhill training started today with racing at the weekend. Also in Alpine skiing, Dougie Crawford came 38th in today’s World Cup Downhill race in Kvitfjell, Norway. Tomorrow is another Downhill and the Super G on Sunday.
Action is already underway in Jasna, Slovakia at the World Junior Ski Championships. Competing for Great Britain are Charlie Guest, Darcie Mead, Jack Gower, Charlie Raposo, Nick Moynihan and Billy Major. Charlie Guest has already had two great results, coming 16th in today’s slalom and 22nd in yesterday’s GS. Darcie Mead also competed in the Ladies’ Giant Slalom but unfortunately DNF 1st run. Jack Gower and Billy Major competed in the Men’s SG on Wednesday, coming 45th and 76th respectively. In the Men’s SC race on Wednesday, Billy Major finished 50th but Jack Gower DNF 2nd run.
Next Thursday 6th and Friday 7th March is the start of the next Ski Cross World Cup in Arosa, Switzerland. Competing from BSS will be Emily Sarsfield, Pam Thorburn and Ed Drake.
