European Freeski Open begins, Delancey British Alpine Ski Championships starts Sunday and Jenny Jones, Katie Summerhayes and Billy Morgan in action

Today sees the start of the European Freeski Open in Laax, Switzerland. Competing for Great Britain is Tyler Harding, Joe Hides, Cal Sandieson, Mike Rowlands, Madi Rowlands and Molly Summerhayes. Men’s Slopestyle heats start today, Women’s and Men’s Semi-finals tomorrow with Finals on Saturday.

Action starts today in the Grandvalira Total Fight contest in Andorra where Billy Morgan has been invited to compete against the best riders on the world scene.

Then on Saturday it is contest day at the Nine Queens Big Air competition in Livigno, Italy. Jenny Jones competes for the first time since her Olympic bronze medal win in Sochi and is joined by Katie Summerhayes for the female only event.

Sunday sees the start of the 2014 Delancey British Alpine Championships, the biggest event in the British Alpine ski racing calendar. This will be the 11th year of the Championships which will see Chemmy Alcott retire from competitive ski racing and top British racers Dave Ryding, Dougie Crawford, TJ Baldwin and Charlie Guest competing for the British titles.

There is ongoing action at the World Junior Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Championships. Elodie Wallace claimed 9th place in the Aerials finals with brother Lloyd taking 19th place.  In Moguls, Sam Houston came 28th and Will Feneley 30th.  Today is the Dual Moguls competition. The Championships run until 6th April.
