It has been a frustrating weekend for some of our Alpine skiers with Chemmy Alcott crashing at the Downhill in Crans Montana and Dougie Crawford having two DNFs in Kvitfjell.

Crawford, who finished 38th in Friday’s World Cup Downhill in Kvitfjell could not complete Saturday’s Downhill or Sunday’s Super G, both in tricky conditions.

For Chemmy Alcott, after some promising recent results, including strong performances in Sochi, her frustration continues after crashing on the Downhill course in Crans Montana at the World Cup. She is now on her way back to the UK for a period of recovery.

Action continues today at the World Junior Championships in Jasna, Slovakia with Charlie Guest and Darcie Mead in the Super G/Super Combined. Then tomorrow is the Men’s GS, Wednesday the Men’s Slalom and Thursday the Ladies’ Downhill.

This Thursday 6th and Friday 7th March is the start of the next Ski Cross World Cup in Arosa, Switzerland. Competing from BSS will be Emily Sarsfield, Pam Thorburn and Ed Drake.

Dave Ryding then competes at the weekend in the Kranjska Gora World Cup Slalom on Sunday 9th.
