Austrian and British National Mogul and Dual Moguls Championships 2015

The Austrian and British National Mogul Championships were held for the second year together.

On a long slope that was very firm and under an almost cloudless sky, the conditions could not have been much better for the British Athletes that travelled to the resort.

In total Britain had 11 athletes in this event and outnumbering all other teams entered in terms of the number of athletes.

There were 8 Nations entered including Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Great Britain.

At the end of the Mens Qualification competition for duals Great Britain had 7 athletes who made it through to the Final round of 12.  After the finals Britain found itself with 2 athletes on the podium behind Austria’s Thomas Aigner who won the gold medal. The Silver Medal was won by Rotherham (South Yorks) skier Sam Houston and the Bronze medal went to Tideswell (Derbyshire) skier Liam Keyes.

The womens event ended with an Austrian clean sweep taking gold silver and bronze. The British girls ended up in 6^th and 7^th place overall.

In terms of the British Dual Moguls Championship Results they were as follows;

Men

1^st Place – Sam Houston

2^nd Place – Liam Keyes

3^rd Place – William Fenely

 

Women

1^st Place – Jodie Grant

2^nd Place – Genevieve Justice

 

After an incredibly sucessful Saturday dual moguls competition for GBR, Sunday saw the athletes line up once again for the single moguls event.

This event again went well for GBR with another podium for GBR with Norfolk skier Will Feneley, beating off some strong competition allowing him to take his turn on a FIS podium to pick up a bronze medal overall.  The competition was deservedly won however by Japanese skier Yuma Hioki taking the gold medal and Nel Ostir from Slovenia picking up a silver medal.

The womens event was another Austrian clean sweep leaving the Briish Girls tp pick up 5^th and 6^th position.
