Action continues at Freestyle World Championships and Wengen World Cup Slalom changed to Saturday for Dave Ryding

Freestyle World Championshisp

After strong performances from Lloyd and Elodie Wallace in Aerials (15th and 20th respectively) and a 22nd and 30th place for Zoe Gillings-Brier and Stephanie Gehrig in Snowboard Cross, the action continues at the Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Kreischberg. This weekend sees Ellie Koyander and Andrew Longley competing in Moguls, with Slopestyle, Ski Halfpipe and Big Air all taking place next week. The Ski Cross action happens next weekend.

Away from Kreischberg, Billy Morgan is competing at the Air + Style in Innsbruck, with qualifying on the Big Air jump taking place today and the finals tomorrow. Rowan Coultas is in China for the Red Bull Nanshan Open. The invite only event will feature 30 riders in the largest Slopestyle competition in Asia. Qualification takes place on Saturday, with finals on Sunday. Both riders will be looking to emulate the success of 15 year old snowboarder Fin Bremner who came a phenomenal 4th place at the World Rookie Fest in Livigno, the largest youth snowboard series in the world. Check out Fin's run on the GB Park and Pipe Facebook page here.

For the Delancey British Alpine Ski Team, Cara Brown competes today in the Downhill at the St Moritz Europa Cup, and will compete in Super G over the weekend. Because of the snow that is forecast for later today, the Downhill in Wengen has been changed to Sunday, meaning Dave Ryding’s Slalom race will now take place tomorrow. Run one takes place at 9am UK time.

For the senior British Nordic team, it is just Posy Musgrave in action, competing in the 5km Classic and the 5km Freestyle Pursuit at the Austrian National Championships in Lackenhof this weekend.
