More Success for Niki Sole and TJ Baldwin
Today saw the NC Ladies Slalom, NC Men's Giant Slalom and the Seniors Combined trophies up for grabs at the 2011 Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships.
Harriet Steggles dominated the NC Slalom race, with a time of 1.26.01, which resulted in her winning the British Overall, the Evie Pinching Salver, and the Non Team British Ladies Ski Club Open Challenge Cup. She was closely followed by Natalie Beattie, who won the British Under 18, Schools Abroad Trophy. The top time from the ladies Slalom was from Bogdana Matsotska, who completed the course in 1.25.26. She was awarded the International Gold medal, with Steggles coming second.
In the
Men's Giant Slalom, Dave Ryding achieved the top overall time
of 2.36.28, and was placed 1st on the podium for the
International race and British Overall, Ski Club of Great Britain
Challenge Cup. He was closely followed by Oliver Jenot, from
Monaco, who crossed the line in a time of 2.37.21. Nicholas
Moynihan came 2nd overall in the British with a time of
2.44.02, and was awarded the Non Team British Award, Palmer
Tomkinson Trophy and the U18 Gordon Skiers Cup.
Niki
Sole has dominated the 1st place podium this
championships, so there was no surprise that she was awarded the
Lilywhite Gretton Trophy and McLeod trophy for the being the
British Ladies Combined Champion and the British Non-Team champion.
Imogen Taylor closely followed which resulted in her being the U18
Combined Champion. TJ Baldwin won the Men's Overall Combined Fedden
Cup and Matthew Thompson won the Non-team, McLeod trophy and U18
Spence trophy.
The
Victor Ludorum trophies for best overall result for the whole
Senior Championships was awarded to TJ Baldwin. He was given the
Sir John Ritblat Cup. The DHO Challenge Plate for the runner-up was
given to Niki Sole.
