The first weekend in September, Chill Factore in Manchester hosted the British Indoor Skiing Championships which saw 130 of Britain's best skiers compete. The event saw some fantastic races, but the closest results came in the slalom ski racing, in which a few hundredths of a second determined the overall result. However it was the British Junior skiers dominating the podium, with local racer Beth Widdup (age 17) taking the Ladies' title after a first run deficit, and Ashley Breese (age 16) earning a decisive win and taking the Mens' title in the slalom event.
