Outstanding Second Place Finish for Dave Ryding at NZ National Champs

This week's National Championships Men's Slalom event at Coronet Peak, New Zealand, saw Team GB Alpine racer Dave Ryding secure a fantastic second place finish. Dave's second run was the fastest of the top racers in the event, and Dave's podium finish was even more of a success as he was competing amongst some of the world top 100-ranked skiers.

This event also saw Charlotte Guest storm another brilliant result in the Ladies' Giant Slalom National Championships. Our new addition to the Junior Squad, Laurie Taylor, had an encouraging start to the season too, earning his best results to date.

New Zealand has seen some great results across British Ski and Snowboard disciplines over the last few weeks with both Dom Harington and James Machon scoring well at Freestyle World Cup events in snowboarding and skiing respectively. This is a great start to season for both Dom and James, whose successes in these events also contributed towards their Olympic World Cup qualification for Sochi 2014.
