Charlie Raposo produced Team GB's best-ever male alpine skiing performance at an European Youth Olympic Winter Festival with a sixth-place finish in the giant slalom in Brasov, Romania.

Head coach Sean Langmuir said, "There was a great team vibe this morning. All our athletes performed well, and put in one hundred percent. Charlie scored a personal best in a major event with a tough field of 97 competitors which is the best you can hope for. He showed great composure under pressure and pushed hard for a podium in the second run. This result goes some way to demonstrating that our best youth athletes can compete on equal terms with the best in the world."

Raposo said after the race: "I was pushing really hard, it was right on the edge and I made a few mistakes. That is ski racing for you, these things can happen and I have to pleased with that finish. I'm a year younger than a lot of these guys and I beat a lot of people who have better FIS points than me so I'm really pleased."

Massive congratulations also goes to BSS's Maisie Potter competing in Snowboard Cross today who finished 7th overall. Maisie is one stop closer to her dream of competing for Team GB at the Winter Olympics.
