Downhill madness on Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh

On Wednesday 1st December, a 'mystery man' skied off an overhang on Arthur's seat, shocking passers-by that were admiring the snow scenes of Edinburgh. This skier was later identified as BSS' very own Gareth Trayner, Head Coach of the British Children's Ski Team. Gareth was enjoying the snow with two friends, Finlay Mickel (former World Cup skier) and Jimmy Gill (ex-Scottish team athlete).
With Queen's Drive below, this downhill run was risky to say the least but fortunately Gar's experience helped him down safely. He said "we had three runs down this same slope, it was amazing, the best runs in Edinburgh we have ever had." He hastened to add that he wouldn't want this video inspiring inexperienced skiers to do the same!
The British Children's Ski Team are currently on a Speed Camp in Austria, though Gar will be sticking to the piste with our budding athletes! The Team is currently looking for sponsors.
We hope that the video of Gar's fun in the snow generates positive interest in British skiing! For the youtube clip of this 'downhill madness' click here.
