‘30 Days of Snowsport’ reaches midway point with 100s trying skiing and snowboarding nationwide

As the ‘30 Days of Snowsport’ initiative (www.30daysofsnowsport.org.uk) reaches its midway point, hundreds of people across England have already given skiing or snowboarding a go for the first time, as slopes nationwide continue to offer free or discounted taster and recreational ski & snowboard sessions.
The 30 Days of Snowsport initiative, which is part of Snowsport England’s GO SKI GO BOARD campaign (www.goskigoboard.org.uk), aims to offer people the chance to try skiing or snowboarding for the first time, and let people who already ski or snowboard get their ‘ski’ legs back, with 70 sessions taking place at 19 facilities across England.

Supported by Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports (www.ellis-brigham.com) for the first time, 30 Days of Snowsport is offering 25 dedicated events at 19 slopes and facilities, with at least 70 free or discounted taster and recreational sessions running throughout the campaign. There are still over two weeks to get involved, and free taster sessions are happening at Sunderland Sports Complex from 10th-16th October. Discounted sessions will also be running at Aldershot, Kendal, Mendip and Ski Rossendale.
During 30 Days of Snowsport many slopes will also be running open days, races, competitions and freestyle events. Last week saw GB Park and Pipe star James ‘Woodsy’ Woods touring the country along with international freeski stars as part of the 30 Days of Snowsport campaign. And coming up over the next 13 days are Open Days at Ackers Adventure of 16th October and Chatham on 22nd October. The Sportsaid Charity Freestyle Jam and Open Day will take place on the penultimate day, 22nd October at Stoke Ski Centre. And concluding 30 Days of Snowsport will be the Yorkshire Dales Cross Country Ski Club Beginner Race in York on Sunday 23rd October.
