Emily started skiing when she was 3 and has been competing on the FIS Ski Cross World Cup circuit since 2006. Her highest world ranking to date has been 20th in 2008, though she has been the top British ranked Ski Cross athlete already in her career.

In the 2007/2008 season, Emily achieved the best female British skiing result of the season by finishing 11th in the Ski Cross World Cup Finals in Italy. She is also five times British Champion and finished 16th in the 2007 Freestyle Skiing World Championships.

emily sarsfield action 2.Due to a serious knee injury in February 2009, Emily unfortunately missed the rest of the season, though successful surgery enabled Emily to be back racing at the start of the 2009/2010 season.

In the 2009/2010 season Emily created British Skiing history by becoming the first British Female Skier to win a Skiing Europa Cup race. At the start of the 2010/2011 season she finished third in the inaugural South American Cup race in Chapelco, Argentina in a field containing Vancouver Winter Olympic Games Ski Cross athletes.

Emily's goals are to be consistently placed in the world's top 10 for Ski Cross and to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Russia.
