Short Bio:
I
started skiing on a family holiday when I was 3. From then on I went on
yearly family ski holidays always doing my best to try to keep up with my
big brother and sister. Whilst at home I joined my school (Surbiton High)
ski club and skied on dry slope weekly from the age of 4 . I did my
first schools dryslope race aged 7 and was hooked. Soon after that I
joined Sandown Park Ski Race Club through which I participated in regional dry
slope races, progressing onto snow racing at the age of 11.
I
followed the British system, training in school holidays and racing
in British races through which I was selected for the GB children's team
in 2008. From then on I continued training and racing whenever possible
and represented GB at a few children's international races.
As
I progressed into FIS I trained with the England Alpine ski team whilst
still completing my GCSEs and A-levels at Surbiton High. For
the 2012/13 season I joined Ambition Racing where I was trained by
Marc Telling and Jo Ryding alongside the rest of their FIS team.
After
finishing my A-levels in 2013 I took a year out of studying
and spent the 2013/14 season skiing full time, based in Leogang,
Austria, with Ambition. I focused all my energy on skiing as fast as I
could, training as hard as possible and getting plenty of race practice. I made
significant improvements over the season and lowered my FIS point
despite struggling to put everything together in races.
The
2014/15 season was a bit of a change as I started my first year studying
Natural Sciences at Bath University. I worked around my studies to keep
training in the gym and getting on snow as much as possible. Despite training
much less over the season, with a more relaxed attitude, my racing
seemed to catch up to my training and I managed to produce my best
results to date. I lowered my FIS points, competed in major championships
achieving some credible results and topped it off at the British Championships
winning the U21 SL title and being on the podium in numerous events. I am
now hoping to build on this by continuing to train with ambition alongside my
studies for the 2015/16 season.
