GB Freestyle Snowboard and GBFreeski Media Day

Yesterday was a notable date on BSS's calendar. Not only was it the BSS AGM, it was also the team's big early season media day ahead of Sochi 2014.

At the Chill Factore in Manchester nearly 50 journalists had a full day with the athletes and coaches of the GB Freeski and Freestyle Snowboard teams, interviewing them for newspapers, television and websites as well as filming them and taking photos on the slope.

The Chill Factore had kindly set up an amazing park with brand new kicker and airbag and the athletes pulled out some of their top class tricks for the media as well as intrigued members of the public.

With the exception of Olympic hopeful James Woodsy Woods, nearly every member of the squad were there. So with 18 athletes and close to 50 media it was a busy day. The BBC were there in full force gathering material and footage ahead of what promises to be extensive coverage of Sochi 2014 and many of the national newspapers and newswires were getting to know our athletes - great news ahead of a such a big season.

Last night saw BBC Look North put out a feature on our skiers and snowboarders from Yorkshire, and keep an eye on the BSS Twitter and Facebook pages for information on future coverage of the squads.
