Scottish Sisters Dominate the Podium in the British Juniors NJC Downhill
27th March 2012… In near perfect conditions and on the same run used in the 1992 Winter Olympics, it was another great day for the Scottish ski fraternity as they took a clean sweep on the podium in the Junior Ladies NJC Downhill at the Delancey British Alpine Ski Championships in Meribel
Perthshire's Charlotte Guest won British Overall Junior with a time of 1:55.21, closely followed by fellow Scots, Alex Tilley from Aberdeen with 1:55.50, and Falkirk's Natalia Harte who finished third with 1:56.81. Charlotte's sister Katharine completed the winning quartet securing fourth place overall and later winning the Lions Ski Club Trophy in British Junior 1 Category with 1:57.44.
In the men's, The International Junior was won by Slovakian Martin Bendik with 1:47.60, with Austria's Jackson Coull taking second (1:49.12) and France's Ivo Ricou coming in third (1:49.37). The overall British Junior category was dominated by Junior British team members: Matthew Thompson from Buckinghamshire was awarded The Sunfold Cup with a time of 1:49.59, followed by Berkshire's Roy-Alexander Steudle (1:49.83) and Ashley Sam Hill with 1:50.83.
It was another win for Buckinghamshire in the British Junior 1 as Max Baggio took home The Ski Club of Great Britain Challenge Cup with 1:51.90. Wiltshire's Charles Raposo finished second with 1:53.48 and Laurie Taylor third with 1:53.68.
