The London 2012 Torch Relay – Be Part of History!

Do you know someone who has what it takes to be a London 2012 Torchbearer?

British Ski and Snowboard (BSS) have been given the opportunity to nominate 2 Torchbearers and we want your help to decide who they should be. 

Do you have a coach, staff member or volunteer at your ski club works tirelessly for the benefit of the club and its athletes?  Do you know someone who has devoted countless hours of their time to benefit others within skiing and snowboarding?

The deadline for submitting nominations is midnight on Sunday 21^st August!

All nominations received before this deadline will then be reviewed and the BBS board will select 2 nominees, whose names will then be put forward for consideration by the British Olympic Association (BOA).  50% of the London 2012 Torchbearers will be aged between 12-24, therefore in order to meet these criteria; at least one of the nominees submitted by BSS to the BOA will be within this age range.  No Torchbearer must nominate themselves.

To nominate a Torchbearer, please complete the nomination form, making sure you include all of the following details accurately for the nominee:

• Full Name
• Date of Birth
• UK County
• UK Postcode
• Valid Email Address
• Valid UK phone number
• Torchbearer Story -  A 150 word submission which demonstrates how the individual meets the following torchbearer criteria:
  • Has inspired people to do something they never thought possible
  • Always tries to be the best they can be
  • Makes a real difference in their school or local community
  • Has shown what it means to be a real friend
  • Shows respect for other people and knows the importance of fair play
• Confirm they will be willing to agree to the participation terms and conditions and publicity terms and conditions.  (Please note the 2 nominees selected by the BSS board will be required to submit a signed, hard copy of these terms and conditions prior to their name being submitted to the BOA.)

Completed Nomination forms should be submitted to Lynsey Hamilton via hamiltonl@teamgb.com or by post to Lynsey Hamilton, British Ski and Snowboard, 60 Charlotte Street, London, W1T 2NU, no later than midnight on Sunday 21^st August.  Nominations which arrive after this deadline will not be considered.
