Proposed Super-G training day changed in favour of a Super-G race.

The Delancey British Children's Championships began today with a Super-G run in excellent conditions on the Piste du Corbey. 

The programmed training day was changed to a race day because of the uncertain weather conditions forecast for the rest of the week. Sixty girls and ninety-two boys born between 1997 and 2000 took part and Yasmin Cooper from the British Ski Academy and Robert Poth from Telford Ski Club won they respective races in convincing style. 

In the girls event Grace Ragosta won the Children 1 age group, beating her nearest rival by more than three seconds and finishing third in the overall result, coming less than half a second behind Honor Clissold in second place.  Isadora Taylor from Ambition Ski Academy was fourth.  Melissa Maiklem from Sandown Park was the runner up in the younger age group and Isabella Colley from the same club was just behind her.

The boys contest was very closely contested with the first four being only three tenths of a second apart.  Robert Poth was triumphant, completing the course in 55.64 seconds but he was very closely followed by Fraser Buchan and Jordan Fellows with Oliver Davies just missing the podium in fourth place.   Angus Wills from BSA was the most successful Children 1 with Matthew Ray and Arthur Coleman, both from Kandahar SC in second and third places.  Scott Buchan was fourth.

The planned programme for tomorrow is for a second Super-G which will be the British Championship event.
