FIS Calendar Conference, Portoroz, 2011

At the beginning of June, nine representatives from GBR attended the annual FIS Calendar Conference, which this year took place in Portoroz, Slovenia, between 1^st -4^th June.

Dave Edwards, Susie Berry, Ingrid Christophersen, Patrick Field, George Gabriel, Iain Mackay, Jenny Shute, Dick Taplin and Sean Wilken attended the conference on behalf of British Ski and Snowboard to participate in a selection of meetings and committees over the 4 day period.  Within the beautiful setting of Portoroz, members of the national ski federations from across the globe met to consider discipline specific matters, hold specialist committees and take part in executive board meetings.  In addition more broad ranging topics were also on the agenda, from medical, legal and safety, competition equipment and the athlete's commission meeting, through to advertising, PR and media.  The assembly also discussed individual levels of competition including citizen and university racers, Europa Cup and Intercontinental Cup.

The FIS Calendar Conference was followed by the World Cup Organiser's Seminar on 5^th and 6^th June 2011 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
