Double Gold for Gillings in Gressoney

Britain's Zoe Gillings has triumphed in Italy, winning the 2 FIS Snowboard Cross races in Gressoney La Trinite over the weekend.

Zoe had a strong start to the competition qualifying in 1^st place for the heats on Saturday, with over half a second between her and the athlete in 2^nd place, signally the beginning of what was to be an impressive weekend.  She raced fantastically in the heats and took gold convincingly from her rivals.  The stage was then set for Sunday, the prospect of a double victory within her sights.  Once again 1^st place in qualification belonged to Zoe and although the competition was stronger than the previous day she battled on, only dropping to 2^nd for a short time before coming back to claim her 2^nd victory of the weekend.

After a tough season both financially and with injury this is a fantastic achievement and a huge confidence boost for Zoe.
