The FIS International Youth Races continued last weekend with 10 skiers from the U16 & U14 race squad selected to compete.

Races began on Friday with the U16 Slalom & U14 Giant Slalom and with excellent conditions the team was set for a great day of racing. Sarah Woodward finished in a fantastic 15th place, with teammates Olivia Ward and Matthew Heginbotham finishing in 36th & 46th respectively.

Onto the U14’s Joseph Christey landing a top 20 position in 19th and teammates Sienna Horton & Toby Case finishing in 29th & 38th.

Due to heavy snow on Saturday the U16 Giant Slalom was reduced to just one run, however despite the conditions, the team still had everything to play for.  In the U16 races, Alicja Krahelski finished in a fantastic 20th position and teammate Sarah Woodward in 67th. The boys continued the form with Matthew Heginbotham taking 22nd place and Thomas Hudson and Charlie Luke finishing in 36th and 71st place respectively.

In the U14’s Slalom, the run of top 20 finishes continued with Sienna Horton landing 19th place, with Toby Case in 24th & Joseph Christey in 33rd. Unfortunately, Daisi Daniels DNF’d in her Slalom and Giant Slalom but will be back in action at the championships at the end of this month.

The U16 & U14 race squad will now be looking towards the 2016 Delancey British National Alpine Ski Chidren’s Championships, taking place from the 27th March- 1st April.

Congratulations to all those involved in Topolino and good luck to all athletes taking part in the Championships!
