PyeongChang 2018 - Day 5 Preview

ALPINE: LADIES’ SLALOM at Yongpyong Alpine Centre

1:15am (GMT) Run 1  |  4:45am (GMT) Run 2 – Charlie Guest, Alex Tilley

Scottish skiers Alex Tilley and Charlie Guest will make their Olympic debuts tomorrow morning when they line up in the ladies’ slalom.

Tilley was due to make her first appearance of the Games in the Giant Slalom earlier in the week however that event was pushed back to Thursday due to high winds.

She now gets the opportunity to race on the biggest stage in a discipline which she has been victorious in nine Nor Am, Far East Cup or FIS competitions over the past five years.

While Giant Slalom is her preferred discipline, Tilley is known for going as hard as she can and will be targeting a place in the top 30 to earn a second run.

Tilley will be 35th out of the gates, seven places ahead of Charlie Guest (42nd) whose journey to become an Olympian looked to be over when the 24-year-old fractured four vertebrae when training in Sweden in late 2014.

Since then, Guest has come back stronger than ever. She has 12 career FIS Slalom victories to her credit, the most recent of which came in November when she won a race in Finland.
