GB Park and Pipe dominate at Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup in Czech Republic

At the FIS World Cup Snowboard Slopestyle in Spindleruv Mlyn in Czech Republic, the GB Park and Pipe team dominated today, with Jamie Nicholls taking a memorable win in the men’s competition, Billy Morgan finishing in third and the unstoppable Katie Ormerod finishing second in the ladies contest.

After his win, Nicholls said,

""I am so happy to finally win a World Cup. It's a first for me to get on a podium at a World Cup and I am just so pleased with how today went. I felt great all day and I was really happy with the run I put down. It has been a great day."

Nicholls beat USA’s Chris Corning into second with Billy in third, and for the women, Sylvia Mittermüller from Germany took top spot with Katie in second and Sarka Pancochova from the Czach Republic in third.

On top of the three podium finishes, team mates Aimee Fuller and Rowan Coultas placed in amazing 7th and 8th place respectively. A great performance from all the athletes.

To round off an incredible season, 18 year old Katie Ormerod was awarded with 3rd in the Overall Ladies FIS Snowboard World Cup Standings behind USA's Olympic Gold Medallist Jamie Anderson in first and Xuetong Cal from China in second.

Ormerod said,

"I'm stoked to put down the run I wanted in the World Cup and come 2nd! I'm almost more stoked about finishing 3rd in the Overeal FIS ranking for this season!"
