Busy week for Ryding and British Nordic teams

Delancey British Alpine Team

Following Dave Ryding’s fantastic 13th place finish at the World Cup Slalom in Santa Caterina yesterday, he will now move over to Adelboden where he will race in the next Slalom World Cup on Sunday.

Charlie Guest finished 30th in yesterday’s Europa Cup in Zinal. Also in Europa Cup action next week is Cara Brown who will be racing in the Downhill and Super G races in Altenmarkt, Austria. Alex Tilley will next race in Flachau, Austria in next Tuesday’s World Cup Slalom.

British Nordic Team

The British Nordic Team are continuing with their Tour de Ski campaign after the second stage in Oberstdorf concluded yesterday. In yesterday’s 15k Classic race Andrew Musgrave finished in 37th position, and on Tuesday in the Sprint Classic final, Andrew Young finished in 31st following his unfortunate DNF at the weekend after he got tangled in an advertisement guide rope. In the same race on Tuesday, Musgrave came in 55th place.

Callum Smith and Annika Taylor who used last the weekend’s Tour de Ski races to build their experience of World Cup racing, have now moved over to race in the Scandinavian Cup. The final stages of the Tour de Ski take place this Friday in Toblach and Saturday and Sunday in Val di Fiemme, Italy.

World Nordic Under 23 and Junior Championships 2016

The British Nordic Team have also announced their 7-strong squad for the World Nordic Under 23 and Junior Championships which take place in Rasnov, Romania from 22-28 February 2016.

For the cross country athletes, representing Great Britain will be Sarah Hale and Annika Taylor in the U23 category and Juniors Lynne Gray, Duncan Gibb and James Clugnet. Great Britain will also be represented in the Junior Ski Jumping category by brothers Jake and Robert Lock.
