Roy learned to ski aged 3 in whistler and started racing on the British circuit aged 12.
He was a member of the British Children's Alpine Ski Team for 4 years, competing in Topolino, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Abetone. He then moved into the British Junior Alpine Ski Team but his first year in FIS races was marred with an injury to his tibia. Roy also trains with the Ambition race team, coached by Marc Telling.
Last season Roy performed well in the technical disciplines improving his points in both. With a change to head skis he hopes to also improve in the speed disciplines. He won the under 18 Super G title last season along with 3 other international GS titles.
Roy's summer programme includes constant fitness training and camps in Italy, Austria and Chile. With large jumps already being made on the physical side Roy hopes to make a strong step forward in his career in the coming season.
