What is the British Snowsports Fund?

The British Snowsports Fund is a way for you to support British snowsports athletes. We’re making this as easy as possible by enabling you to make a donation alongside a purchase with one of our partner organisations, which include holiday companies, transfer companies and retailers. You can also make a donation by clicking here.

Your donation will help our future Winter Olympians. We want to ensure that our athletes have everything they need to progress, whether they’re a freestyle snowboarder who needs to travel to New Zealand for summer training, or an Alpine skier who needs support for rehabilitation after an injury.

Who does the Fund support?

The Fund supports ski and snowboard athletes all the way through their careers. We also work with projects that get more people involved in snowsports - and help others grow to love the sports that we do.

Some of the athletes who we have already supported include:

Andrew Young

Hopes are high for Youngy at the PyeongChang Games, and this grant will help him ensure he’s fully prepared for the competition, including allowing him to spend more time training at altitude.

Molly Summerhayes

The 2015 Ski Halfpipe Junior World Champion is one of GB Park and Pipe team’s brightest young prospects. After recovering from a knee injury, qualifying for PyeongChang 2018 is a goal that the grant is helping her achieve.

Laurie Taylor

At 21, Laurie’s still young for an Alpine skier, and is showing huge potential, finishing 33rd at the World Championships in 2017. We’ve given him a grant to help him qualify for PyeongChang, which will be great practice ahead of the 2022 Games when he’ll be in his prime.

Maisie Potter

Maisie’s a Snowboard Cross athlete, and the Fund has given her a grant to boost her chances of qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

How is the money spent?

The money raised by the British Snowsports Fund will be allocated to a number of organisations to ensure that it is spent where it can have the most impact. The organisations include British Ski and Snowboard (the official governing body of skiing and snowboarding in the UK), The British Ski and Snowboard National Foundation (a charity who support participation in snowsports and talented young athletes) and GB ParaSnowsport (the organisation who support elite disabled snowsports athletes).

"The fund is a great way for people to support British skiing.

With the financial support it offers me as an athlete, it gives me the confidence that my programme is matching the best teams in the world."
