BSS Membership and Election Announcement

BSS Membership and Board and Committee Appointments
In June this year Lord Moynihan announced the adoption of a new Constitution for British Ski and Snowboard. Athletes who have taken out FIS licences for the 2012- 2013 season have joined BSS as full members. We are now pleased to announce that a number of other new categories of membership are open from today.
People can now join us as "Organisers", "ex FIS Licence holders" or "Supporter Members ". There is still an option to be a "Supporter" of BSS without membership obligations or voting rights but we hope that people with a passion and an interest in the sport will join us as full voting members. Further detail can be found on our website at /about-us/join-us/ and in the explanatory document that can be downloaded from the Governance - policies section of our website.
This document also contains details of the nomination and election process for the elections that will be held to fill the posts on the Discipline Committees, the Athlete's Advisory Council and the Board. The nomination forms can also be downloaded from the Governance-policies section of our website.
We hope that many of you will join our organisation and perhaps stand for election for posts within our new structure. The framework for an accountable and transparent governance structure is now in place. Increasing membership numbers, completing the election process and appointing Independent Board Directors are all key next steps in our evolution.
