X Games in Aspen kicks off today with Woods, Ormerod and Summerhayes in action

GB Park and Pipe          

In what is probably the biggest event on the snowboard and freeski calendar, the X Games in Aspen kicks off today with three GB Park and Pipe athletes competing in Ski and Snowboard Slopestyle.  

Katie Ormerod will be riding in the Snowboard Slopestyle finals tomorrow at 10.00 Colorado time, which is 17.00 GMT. Then at 12.30 local time, which is 19.30 GMT, Katie Summerhayes, who got awarded a second alternate place just yesterday, will compete in the Ski Slopestyle finals.

Then on Sunday, James Woodsy Woods will ride in the Men’s Ski Slopestyle finals at 10.00 Colorado time, 17.00 GMT. After dislocating his jaw in Mammoth last weekend, but continuing to compete, nothing will stop Woodsy fulfilling his dream of doing well again at an X Games. He won an X Games bronze in 2013.

The Rev Tour continues, with the action moving to Mammoth. Competing for GB Park and Pipe is Rowan Cheshire, Pete Speight, Murray Buchan and James Machon in Ski Halfpipe and Ben Kilner in Snowboard Halfpipe. Tyler Harding is in the Ski Slopestyle competition and Sam Turnbull is in the Snowboard Slopestyle competition.

Delancey British Alpine Team

Delancey British Alpine Team athlete Alex Tilley will be looking to make an impact at the World Cup GS and Slalom in Maribor, Slovenia and Charlie Guest is competing in the Ladies Europa Cup Slalom in Sestriere tomorrow.

British Snowboard Cross

Zoe Gillings-Brier will be joined by a big British contingent at the Snowboard Cross Europa Cup in Grasgehren, Germany where she will be looking at mixing it up with the leaders. The rest of the squad, including Paul Moralee, Kyle Wise, Neil Mclean, Martin Divers, Bradley Gaulter, Murray Koller, Ellie Soutter and Maisie Potter will be looking to gain vital Europa Cup experience.            

British Ski Cross

Emily Sarsfield will be joined by young up and coming Ski Cross athlete Emma Peters at the Ski Cross Europa Cup in Lenk, Switzerland. Action starts today and finishes tomorrow.

British Moguls Team

Three British athletes will be competing at the Albiez Moguls Europa Cup in France, taking place today and tomorrow. Competing for GBR is Will Feneley, Thomas Gerken-Schofield and Makayla Gerken-Schofield.

British Nordic Team

British Nordic Team athleets Duncan Gibb, Fi Hughes, Annika Taylor are all appearing at the Cross Country National Championships in Saalfelden, Austria, this Saturday and Sunday.
